An electric converted Aga can save you money and as a result we now offer a fully approved 13amp conversion kit that can be retro-fitted to all Aga cooker models. If a new reconditioned Aga is out of your price range the conversion allows you to convert your existing Aga to 13amp Electric.

 

Converting your Aga is the best way to turn your Aga into an environmentally friendly cooker

that saves you money. 

 

The 13amp electric AGA Conversion can be installed into two or four oven models.

 

The conversion from Gas, Solid Fuel or Oil to 13amp can be completed on site usually within 3 to 4 hours.

 

Your Aga will be partially dismantled in order to install the 13amp Conversion and will then run on a

comparatively low powered connection 13amp or 2.5KW, similar to that of an electric kettle and it is strongly

recommended that the Cooker is on its own circuit.

 

All internals and workings remain the same but instead of using a burner, an electric element tops the heat up

in the cast iron as and when required throughout the day.

 

Conduction and convection then gently spread the warmth to the hot plates and ovens using air which is re-circulated time and again - there are no 'products of combustion' to exhaust so the system is highly efficient.

 

As there's no burner to clean, maintenance is minimal and low cost - just a safety check every 5 years or so.

 

No need for a chimney or flue. No flue means no loss of heat up the flue.

Wiring Requirements

The 13amp AGA Cooker needs its own circuit from the consumer unit. A 16amp circuit breaker should be used and a 2.5mm cable to a Crabtree Switched, Fused Spur point to the side of the cooker. (If you already have a normal cooker circuit this can usually be easily adapted to feed the AGA Cooker).
